AS I'VE TRAVELED THROUGHOUT CHRISTIANDOM IN THE U.S. I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT MANY BELIEVERS ARE REALLY, REALLY UNINFORMED!
"I ONLY USE THE KING JAMES BIBLE!", SOME HAVE DECLARED. "ALL THE OTHER TRANSLATIONS ARE IN ERROR. THEY ARE NOT GOD'S WORD."
SO I HAVE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH:
WE KNOW THAT THE KING JAMES BIBLE WAS PUBLISHED IN 1611.
BUT I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY OWNS ONE.
AND HOW MANY FOLKS KNOW THAT FOUR YEARS LATER THE 1611 VERSION WAS REVISED IN 1615.
THEN . . . FOURTEEN YEARS LATER THE 1615 VERSION WAS REVISED IN 1629.
THEN . . . NINE YEARS LATER THE 1629 VERSION WAS REVISED IN 1638.
THEN . . . 124 YEARS LATER THE 1638 VERSION WAS REVISED IN 1762.
THE KJV WAS "REVISED" OVER AND OVER AGAIN FOR 151 YEARS! THEY HAD TO KEEP REVISING IT BECAUSE THEY KEPT FINDING ERRORS. Hmmmmm!
SO . . . WHEN A PERSON CLAIMS THAT THE KJV IS "THE ONE PAUL USED" (yes, some folks are this pathetically ignorant. Paul died about one thousand six hundred years before the KJV even existed!).
I ASK, "WHICH ONE OF THE FIVE VERSIONS IS THE ONE YOU USE, THE 1611, THE 1615, THE 1629, THE 1638, OR THE 1762?"
MOST FOLKS CAN'T EVEN ANSWER THE QUESTION.
AND I'LL BET YOU DON'T KNOW EITHER.
AND IT CAN'T BE THE 1611 KING JAMES BIBLE, BECAUSE NONE OF US HAS ONE. Hmmmmmm!
But just in case you own the original, you might like to know that it contains a GLARING error in Mt. 26:36. It says that "Judas", not "Jesus" entered the garden of Gethsemane TO PRAY with the disciples. Of course, that error was changed four years later.
THAT MUST HAVE THROWN A FEW FOLKS OFF FOR FOUR LONG YEARS AS THEY TRIED TO FIGURE OUT WHY "JUDAS" WAS LEADING THE DISCIPLES IN PRAYER IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE!
GLORY!---KA.VODE STRONG'S #3511
"IN GOD'S TEMPLE EVERYONE SHOUTS, "GLORY"!
WHAT ARE THE FOLKS WHO HAVE NEVER SHOUTED IN CHURCH GOING TO FEEL LIKE IN HEAVEN WHEN EVERYONE IS SHOUTING?
WILL THEY THINK THEY WENT TO THE WRONG PLACE?
I'LL BET IT WILL BE A BIG, BIG SHOCK FOR THEM.
DEFINITION OF "GLORY": HONOR, ABUNDANCE, RICHES, SPLENDOR, DIGNITY, REPUTATION, AND REVERENCE.
